Climate: What
more could you ask for! The climate in Cobb is what keeps the
residents here and brings the visitors back time & again.
Cobb has the best of all worlds with four
distinct seasons, where temperature extremes never linger long.
Dress in Light cottons and knits for the
summer months, with a jacket or sweater for cooler evenings and
air-conditioned settings.
Early spring and late fall call for
slightly heavier clothing. The height of winter brings along
cold, windy air and more rain than usual. Warm suits and
overcoats are in order.
Ice and snow are rarely seen; if the
make an appearance, it is usually in January or February. |

Population: 657,583 and

Area History: Famed Spanish
explorer Hernando De Soto is thought to have visited Cobb County in the
1500’s, but it was not until almost three centuries later that an influx
came to this homeland. The rich history of Cobb County goes back to the
Cherokee and Creek Indians who once roamed the countryside and spans to
its colorful role in the Civil War and other historical events.
The area became a popular resort- a summer haven for
coastal Georgia planters who fled from the heat to our medicinal
springs. In the summer of 1864, the thriving communities of Cobb County
were destroyed by Union troops during the civil War. The county grew
slowly until the 1940’s when aircraft manufacturing made Cobb the
airlift capital of the world. Each community celebrates its heritage
with museums, historical districts and more. Our blend of Old South
charm, natural attractions and modern amenities makes us a perfect
location for meetings and visits.
Current Information: To
date, Cobb County has over 100 hotels offering over 12,500 sleeping
rooms, 2 premier malls with stores ranging in numbers from 150-220, a
specialty mall with specialty boutiques, historic squares, museums,
parks and sites and many antique shops. Cobb County has everything and
anything for that unique experience.
Ballet, art, the symphony, theatre…Cobb County has it
all! Spend time in one of our beautiful museums; hear our own Symphony
Orchestra with renowned Music Conductor Steven Byess; enjoy a
performance by the Georgia Ballet; or see a play at the award-winning
Theatre on the Square. The cultural options are endless.
