-- Three days of a diverse blend of jazz and rock rhythms, fine art and
food are sure to get Valley residents and visitors groovin'. JW Marriott
Desert Ridge Resort & Spa will present Festival in the Desert Friday,
Oct. 10 through Sunday, Oct. 12.
The music-filled weekend will
highlight the talent of more than 20 top national musicians including
Patti LaBelle, Pat Benatar & Neil Geraldo, Boz Scaggs, Smokey Robinson,
The Temptations, Jonny Lang, Buddy Guy, Marion Meadows, Warren Hill, Dr.
John, Euge Groove and Los Lobos.
The event, located at JW Marriott
Desert Ridge Resort's Wildfire Golf Club with scenic views of the
McDowell Mountains, will offer a spectacular setting for enjoying
soul-stirring musical performances.
A celebration of music, art and
culinary creations, Festival in the Desert will occur from 4:30 to 10
p.m. on Friday, Oct. 10; noon to 10 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 11 and 10
a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 12.
Festival in the Desert general
admission tickets are $55 on Friday, $85 on Saturday and Sunday, or $195
for all three days. VIP reserved seating tickets cost $150 on Friday and
$250 on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are available at

Throughout the three-day event, top
local artists will display their artwork for viewing and purchase.
Participating artists include sculptors, painters and specialty craft
designers.
Culinary delicacies will be served up
by JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort's award-winning food and beverage
team including gourmet burgers, Italian sausage, and specialty
sandwiches. The resort will also be offering tantalizing cuisine at its
Ristorante Tuscany, Meritage Steakhouse, Blue Sage and Roy's
restaurants.
For festival-goers looking for a
luxurious and convenient getaway, the four- diamond JW Marriott Desert
Ridge Resort is offering VIP packages including a daily $50 resort
credit, breakfast-for-two each day featuring various artist appearances
and festival re-entry privileges starting at $469 per night.
The Scottsdale Marriott and McDowell
Mountains is offering a special rate starting at $199 per night
including shuttle transportation to the festival. In addition, other
Marriott hotels located in north Scottsdale are offering special rates
for stay during the Festival in the Desert.

available at the event to get people home safely in their own vehicle or
via its "car retrieval service."
A portion of the Festival in the
Desert's proceeds will benefit the Pinnacle High School music program
and Just for Kids Foundation.
