The Simon Pearce Restaurant announces
its much anticipated Wine Dinner season. (Press Release) November 2006, For Immediate
Release.
by: Mayta Pinard
(Quechee, Vermont) The Simon
Pearce Restaurant, winner of the 2006 Wine Spectator, 'Best Of Award Of
Excellence,' for having one of the most outstanding wine lists in the
world, is pleased to unveil its much anticipated 2006/2007 Wine Dinner
calendar. The Wine Dinners are held at the Simon Pearce Restaurant, its
flagship location - The Mill - in picturesque Quechee, VT.
Representatives from renowned wineries
attend each dinner to answer guests' questions and share in the
enjoyment of the evening. The Woodstock Magazine writes in their spring
2006 issue, 'You don't have to visit the vineyards of California or the
tony venues of New York City to participate in the sophistication and
elegance of a wine tasting event.'

The season begins on Thursday,
November 16th, 2006 with Jean Trimbach, ambassador of Alsace's Maison
Trimbach. The house of Trimbach in Ribeauvillé is steeped in a family
tradition of excellence in winemaking, upheld for twelve generations
since 1626. Trimbach achieved its global notoriety as one of the great
wine names of Alsace in 1898, when Frédéric Emile Trimbach was awarded
with the top prizes at the International Fair in Brussels. Trimbach is
praised for its dry white wines and stunning dessert wines, which Simon
Pearce will have the pleasure to serve during this dinner. Bernard
Trimbach and his brother, Hubert, are the winemakers for Trimbach.
Bernard's sons, Jean and Pierre, complete the family picture. They
assume the many responsibilities of upholding the fine name and
reputation that is Trimbach, overseeing every aspect of the operation.
The season continues with Robert Haas,
Managing Partner of Tablas Creek, on Thursday, December 14th. Tablas
Creek Vineyard follows the centuries old Châteauneuf-du-Pape tradition
of blending chosen varietals for richness, balance and ageability.
Robert Hass is one of the three American members of the Académie
Internationale du Vin (AIV). He was elected AIV president in 2000 in
recognition of his role as an importer, a vintner and an advocate of
quality.
Robert Haas has been a major
contributor to both the American wine industry and the International
wine community for over half a century. Robert has been a guest speaker
at numerous events around the country, including the Boston Wine Expo,
the New York Wine Experience and many others.
Chef Joshua Duda and his team create a
unique menu for each evening to highlight the remarkable wines of these
renowned wineries. Bruce McDowell, a Simon Pearce Wine Dinner regular,
comments: 'The selections of wines and foods have never failed to
astound us. Chef Joshua's team crafts amazing combinations of
ingredients for their courses and pairs them with wonderful wines. The
winery and importer representatives invited for the evenings are
consistently knowledgeable and it's delightful to learn more about the
wines we are drinking from the people who actually make them.'
