Take a Holiday After The Holidays- Explore Sedona, Arizona

Oh, the Holidays, a time for family and traditions. But it is also a time for running around, entertaining relatives, cooking, cleaning, etc. This year why not get away and reenergize with a trip to Arizona’s Red Rock country, Sedona.

To REALLY relax, one must have a great place to stay. The Ridge on Sedona Golf Resort is the perfect place to reenergize. Located on the Sedona Golf Resort and surrounded by Red Rocks, the resort features: heated pools, hot tubs, spa services, fitness center (to keep those resolutions!) and personal Concierge service. The one bedroom suite offers: fireplace, whirlpool tub, private patio or balcony, full kitchen and washer/dryer. Imagine getting a massage then coming back to the suite and sitting on the balcony, sipping a drink and enjoying the views.

Now that accommodations are taken care of, there still is the matter of what to do… Sedona has so many great activities and tours that there really is something for everybody. One of the most popular activities is a Jeep Tour. Jeep Tours are available wild, mild, on-road, off-road, vortex and more. A Jeep Tour is a fantastic way to explore Sedona’s Red Rocks. Feeling a little more adventurous? How about a Helicopter ride? They are not only thrilling, but also informative as one is able to see Ancient Ruins that aren’t accessible by ground. Additionally, Sedona is only a few hours from The Grand Canyon. A vacation to Sedona is a great opportunity to visit one of the world’s natural wonders. One can also horseback ride, golf, visit wineries, hike, mountain bike, shop art galleries and more.

Texas Tee-Off: Golfing in the Lone Star State

With a mild climate, a storied past, and more than 800 courses strewn across rugged desert mountains, piney woods, sand greens, and seaside links, Texas is blazing a trail in the world of golf. As lush public, private and resort courses develop across the Lone Star State, Texas is fast becoming a destination hotspot, a year-round golf destination, and a golf lover’s getaway that rivals some of the best locales in the country.

Golfers of all skill levels are challenged and awed by Texas’ enormous selection of golf facilities, from world-famous courses and wildlife watching opportunities to inexpensive golfing on some of the nation’s prettiest terrain. A place called home by legends of the game – including Ben Crenshaw, Ben Hogan, Nancy Lopez, Byron Nelson, Lee Trevino and Babe Zaharias – Texas beckons pros and amateurs alike from all over the world. And from the Gulf Coast to the Big Bend, the choices state-wide are truly endless.

If Ever I Cease to Love:
New Orleans Mardi Gras Traditions Cross Over Valentine’s Celebrations
January 6-February 11, 2010

Every year from January 6, or Twelfth Night as it is called, through Mardi Gras some five weeks later, the New Orleans air rebounds with improbable lyrics like “May fish get legs / and cows lay eggs / if ever I cease to love” – for the song of that name, “If Ever I Cease to Love,” from the popular 1870s burlesque show Blue Beard, has been the anthem of the prestigious Rex Organization from its first parade in 1872.

The song, nonsensical though it seems, does link two of the chief characteristics of New Orleans itself: Romance and Mardi Gras revelry. And as it sometimes does, this year Valentine’s Day falls within ‘the season,’ too, adding another layer of love and celebration.

At the Soniat House, in the heart of the French Quarter, and possibly the most romantic spot on Earth, a flag emblazoned with the legend “If Ever I Cease to Love” flies high and proud through the Mardi Gras season.

However you choose to express your own love, during the 2010 Mardi Gras season, the Soniat House is presenting a remarkable offer on its highly romantic accommodations: two people for two nights is not enough, so we have given a third night on the house. (January 6-February 11, 2010; pay two nights and get third night free; based on availability; Mardi Gras and Valentine’s weekend excluded).

For reservations, visit www.soniathouse.com

All you need is love…!
