Texas Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame is Making a New Home at Cowtown Coliseum in the Fort Worth Stockyards

After 35 years in the small central Texas town of Belton, the Texas Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame is making a new home in one of the world’s greatest historic rodeo venues, Fort Worth’s own Cowtown Coliseum. The Texas Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame (TRCHF) will pack up and hit the trail north and hang its hat in the corridors of the world’s first indoor rodeo and today’s Stockyards Championship Rodeo. The grand re-opening of the TRCHF will be held July 24 – the National Day of the American Cowboy.

From Ty Murray to Lane Frost, there is not a legend or rising star in rodeo that has not passed through the gates and bucking chutes of the more than 100-year old Cowtown Coliseum in the Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District. The Hall of Fame could not have found a more suitable home!

Every April, TRCHF honors champion cowboys dedicated to the sport of rodeo and represent the unmistakable unique Texas' contribution to the sport! Over 350 cowboys have been honored in its history.

Dick Van Dyke to Give Performance in Hot Springs to Benefit the American Cancer Society

The American Cancer Society announced today that Dick Van Dyke and the Vantastix, an a cappella quartet based on the West Coast, will perform at Hot Springs Convention Center on Saturday, July 10.

Tickets to the show, which will feature long-time TV and cinema star Dick Van Dyke, will go on sale on June 10. Proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society. The night will include a cocktail hour (cash bar) at 5:30 p.m., the performance at 6:30 p.m., and a special VIP Meet and Greet at 7:30 p.m.

Van Dyke and three West Coast musicians formed the vocal quartet Dick Van Dyke and The Vantastix in September of 2000 and have been performing well-known songs from some of the hit films that helped make Van Dyke famous. In addition to Van Dyke, members of the group include Mike Mendyke, Bryan Chadima and Eric Bradley.

Songs the group performs include: "You've Got A Friend In Me," "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang," "Baby Of Mine," "High Hopes," "Bare Necessities," "Pick Yourself Up," "A Lover's Question," "It's Not Easy Being Green," "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious," "Ac-Cent-Tchu-Ate The Positive," and the "Theme From Dick Van Dyke Show."

Dick Van Dyke and The Vantastix started "just for fun." The group gathered weekly for pizza and singing around Dick's piano, and soon built up an impressive repertoire of children's songs and standards. After their first casual performance during the wrap party for Dick's mystery TV series "Diagnosis Murder," the group began to get requests to appear at charity events and benefits. They have performed at the City of Hope Hospital, the Beverly Hilton for the Society of Singers Concert honoring Dame Julie Andrews, the Hollywood Bowl as part of an evening of TV theme songs, and at the awarding of a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for Rose Marie. There were also television appearances at the TVLand Awards, "Larry King Live," and a performance of the National Anthem for the NBA Playoffs and others. The group performs in the greater Los Angeles area.

The Boulders Resort

Plan a Picture-Perfect Desert Wedding at the Boulders Resort

Start your marriage off with a rock solid foundation by planning your dream wedding at The Boulders Resort & Golden Door Spa. The property's newly discovered Promise Rock wedding site is composed of the 12-milion-year-old boulders lining the resort and the perfect spot for a fairytale wedding in the desert.

Rich in history, an ancient fertility alter used by the ancient Yavapai people was found at the site as well as markings used for ceremonial purposes. The site is in the process of being added to the Heard Museum and Arizona Archaeology Society 's historical register.

Promise Rock also is adorned with a waterfall and rock art reminiscent of ancient petroglyphs made to depict the sacredness of marriage throughout civilization.
