One Luxurious Inn -
Three Superb Specials

The Highland Haven Creekside Inn is offering
three recession-busting specials for anyone
yearning for a winter getaway.
The “Over the River and Through the Woods”
special is a nod to the inn’s four premium
cottages – Creekside One and Two, and Hillside
One and Two – which are nestled across Bear
Creek among towering green pine trees. Stay one
night and get the second night half off, a
savings of up to $165. The cottages are cozy
“Colorado chic,” featuring pitched ceilings with
log beams, voluptuous beds, fluffy robes,
fireplaces, wet bars, Jacuzzi tubs, private
decks and courtyards, and more.
Also this winter, the Highland Haven is reviving
its popular “Suite Deals,” a $40 savings on any
of its two-bedroom suites, which feature wet-bar
kitchens, sitting rooms, and French doors or
walkout balconies. Both specials run Sundays
through Thursdays (with holidays excluded)
through Feb. 1st, 2010.
Finally, guests who book any luxury suite
through March 1, 2010 can opt to include the
popular “Winter Wonderland Romance Tray” for
$75, a $10 savings. The romance tray is a
gorgeous presentation of white roses, white
chocolate, white sparkling wine, and two
keepsake Highland Haven flutes.
The Highland Haven, celebrating its 30th
anniversary, was named one of the Top 10 Most
Romantic Inns of the Year by
www.iloveinns.com, one of the nation’s Top
10 Most Romantic Cottages by Sunset magazine,
and Best Bed and Breakfast by Mountain Living
magazine.
Known for its exceptional customer service and
delicious homemade breakfasts, the Highland
Haven features 17 rooms, suites and cottages,
each distinctly appointed in “Colorado chic”
décor, designed for maximum comfort and luxury.

"Festival of the
Soul" brings "World Music" to Silver City and
southwestern New Mexico

"Festival of the Soul" musicfest is set for Nov.
14-15 at Penny Park, 1305 N. Grant in Silver
City. The two-day event which features family
oriented, inspirational, uplifting and exciting
"World" music, is the first of its kind to be
held in Silver City and all of southern New
Mexico, organizers say.
"There are blues, bluegrass, folk and jazz music
festivals all over the country, but I felt there
is a following of World Music lovers not getting
the kind of music they wanted," said Ed Conley,
festival organizer. Conley had wanted to start
such a music festival for several years. "We
hope everyone experiencing this music will find
this festival an enjoyable family experience. No
alcohol or smoking are allowed in the park.
Also, please bring your own chair."
Half of the musicfest proceeds will be donated
to Penny Park, a community built park. In April
of this year an arson-caused fire damaged a
large portion of the park. Festival of the Soul
donations will help with the rebuilding of the
park. Ticket prices for Festival of the Soul
are: $10 per day or $15 for both days.
