New York’s Finger Lakes

Restored Historic Boutique Hotels in the Finger Lake Region

Nestled in the picturesque landscape of New York’s Finger Lakes in the village of Aurora, sister properties Aurora Inn and E.B. Morgan House welcome guests with the same handsome grandeur they exuded when originally built in the mid-1800s.

The Aurora Inn’s Federal style is exemplified by its broad-columned balconies, towering chimneys, and multi-paned windows, while design driven furnishings and period paintings provide a perfect complement to the spacious and elegantly decorated hotel. E.B. Morgan House emulates the dignified, architectural lines of the Aurora Inn, but surprises the eye with bold, royal hues and a vibrant art collection of large contemporary paintings that flirts with the classic elements, while the recessed flat-screen televisions and Bose sound systems pamper the twenty-first century guest.

Both hotels boast Frette linens and high-speed Internet access, providing modern indulgences in an otherwise historic property. In the shared dining room, mid-Atlantic born chef, Greg Rhoad, who spent several years under the tutelage of famed culinary master Patrick O’Connell, and his refined American cuisine paired with award-winning local wines complete the entire experience.

Lakota Sioux Indian Dance

Coming Soon to the MIM in Phoenix... Lakota Sioux Indian Dance Theatre

The Musical Instrument Museum (nicknamed “The MIM”) is a new world class museum in Phoenix presenting a vast collection of instruments from all over the globe. Along with its many galleries (complete with HD video screens and innovative, hands free audio system) The MIM presents a year round concert series in its beautiful and intimate 299 seat theater.

On Tuesday November 2 and Wednesday, November 3 (both nights at 7:00 p.m.) The MIM will present “Cokata Upo! Come to the Center” by the Lakota Sioux Indian Dance Theatre. Founded in 1978 on the Rosebud Reservation, South Dakota with the support of the Lakota community, this company will present a three act show celebrating Lakota culture and featuring traditional songs, tribal narratives and creation stories set within the context of spectacular Plains dance and music. Spectacular video backdrops will dress the stage.

The show is produced by SOLARIS (a performance company specializing in dance, theatre and video) founded and headed by Henry Smith who is recognized internationally for his cross-cultural dance-theatre productions.

For an unforgettable evening of Native American dance and music straight from the traditions of the American Plains, go to The MIM for the Lakota Sioux Indian Dance Theatre. To purchase tickets visit The MIM’s box office.

The MIM is located at 4725 East Mayo Blvd. (just south of the 101 Freeway on Tatum Blvd.) in Phoenix, Arizona.
