May 29 through August 21, 2005

2503 Fourth Ave
Canyon, TX  79015

Experience the thrill and excitement of the Old West at the largest history museum in Texas. Visitors will explore 14,000 years of human occupation in the “People of the Plains: Experiments in Living” exhibit area; walk the board sidewalks of Pioneer Town; experience the Texas Oil Boom of the ‘20s and 30’s; relive the stories of courage and hardship in the Texas Panhandle; and view one of the finest collections of art in the Southwest.

The museum is located just 15 minutes south of Amarillo. For more information please visit the website or call 806-651-2244.

From May 29 – August 21, 2005 the museum will host the nationally touring exhibit “Capturing Western Legends: Russell and Remington’s Canadian Frontier” organized and circulated by the Glenbow Museum in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. This remarkable exhibit features the work of Charles M. Russell and Frederic Remington, both of whom created legendary images that continue to define the ‘Old West’ today. Showcased are many paintings from rarely seen collections, bringing to light new knowledge about these artists in a storyline that will delight both the casual visitor and the connoisseur.
